📉No Levels — What Replaces XP?

Your power = gear + artifacts + skills

Crimson Desert has no experience levels. Strength comes from four systems: weapon/armor upgrades, Abyss Artifacts, the three skill trees, and Observation Learning. Never grind XP — grind gear and techniques instead.

🌳The Three Skill Trees

TreeColorFocus
BlueStaminaCombat technique, grapple, dodges
GreenSpiritSupernatural counters, mobility, magic
RedLifeElemental, flight, survival
Recommended early investment

Spend your first points on the Blue grapple branch — it transforms both combat and exploration. Then branch into Green for counter abilities, and Red for element/utility later.

💠Abyss Artifacts

Where they come from
  • Dungeon exploration & puzzles
  • Boss kills (major source)
  • Filling combat slots / achievements

Artifacts are the currency of permanent power — they buy skill tree nodes and Observation unlocks, so spend deliberately.

👁️Observation Learning

The exclusive move source

Hold observe (~2s) while an enemy (or ally) uses a move → spend Abyss Artifacts to permanently learn it. Some of the best techniques in the game are only obtainable this way. Always observe new enemies at least once.

🔄Respec

Wiping your build

Respeccing requires a specific consumable. It's obtainable via merchants/quests but isn't cheap early — respec only when you're confident about a new direction. (Exact item and cost vary by patch — check in-game.)
